Telegram Advertising in 2026: Which Markets Should You Watch?

The next Telegram advertising opportunity is the market where your offer, language and channel selection line up. For advertisers planning campaigns in 2026, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Brazil deserve a closer look.
This is a practical testing shortlist, not a ranking of the fastest-growing advertising markets. Public audience studies help identify where Telegram is used; they do not establish country-level ad-spend growth or predict campaign returns.
Why Telegram belongs on the media plan
Telegram's official advertising site reports one billion monthly users and one trillion monthly views in public broadcast channels. That creates a substantial discovery environment, but the useful unit for an advertiser is still a relevant audience around a specific topic.
Separate two buying routes when planning: sponsored messages purchased through Telegram Ads, and placements arranged with channel publishers. Their formats, pricing and reporting can differ. Evaluate each route against the same business outcome before combining the results.
Six GEOs worth investigating
The Digital 2026 Global Overview Report, page 537, presents GWI Q2 2025 survey data on monthly Telegram use among internet users aged 16 and above:
Saudi Arabia: 65.2%
United Arab Emirates: 58.5%
Indonesia: 58.4%
India: 56.8%
Brazil: 55.8%
Turkey: 53.9%
These are self-reported usage figures, not Telegram Ads reach, population shares or growth rates. This geographically varied selection is not the global top six. The report also flags methodology and audience-composition changes, so these figures should not be treated as a comparable growth series.
India: build around language and intent
India is a useful candidate when your team can support a clearly defined language segment. Start with one customer problem and a small set of relevant channels. An English-language campaign and a regional-language campaign should be separate tests, with matching landing pages and support.
Avoid judging the entire country from one broad channel placement. Record which audience and offer each result represents, then expand only where qualified conversions justify it.
Indonesia: make the whole journey local
For an Indonesia test, prepare Bahasa Indonesia creative and review the complete journey after the click. The offer, price presentation and checkout need to make sense together. A translated ad pointing to an unfamiliar purchasing experience can waste an otherwise relevant placement.
Compare a few distinct channel topics before expanding the budget. Treat topic relevance as a hypothesis to measure, rather than assuming every Telegram audience in the country behaves alike.
Turkey: match the message to the channel
Test Turkish-language copy written for the audience's specific need. A short, concrete promise is easier to evaluate than a generic introduction to your brand. Carry that same promise into the landing page or bot flow.
Ask what evidence supports a channel's audience geography and engagement. Language alone does not prove that readers live in the country you intend to target.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE: run separate experiments
Do not bundle these markets into a single Gulf campaign simply because they are nearby. Set up separate reporting and localize the message for the intended audience. Arabic creative is a sensible hypothesis for a Saudi test; in the UAE, explicitly define which language community and customer segment you want to reach.
These are campaign-design suggestions, not claims that a particular language or country guarantees better results. Verify the actual composition of any publisher audience before paying for a placement.
Brazil: look beyond the installation number
Brazil deserves an engagement check before a large commitment. A January 2025 Mobile Time and Opinion Box survey found Telegram installation among surveyed smartphone owners fell from 63% to 57% over a year. Daily or almost-daily use among Telegram users also fell, from 50% to 38%.
The survey uses a different population and metric from GWI, so the percentages should not be compared directly. Its practical lesson is to inspect recent channel activity and test Portuguese creative with a capped budget instead of treating app adoption as proof of rising attention.
How to choose your first market
Start with delivery readiness.
Choose a country where you can support the language, customer service and purchase journey.
Check the audience.
Review recent posts, engagement patterns and available geography evidence. Subscriber totals alone are insufficient.
Define one conversion event.
Decide whether success means a qualified lead, purchase or retained user before launching.
Keep tests comparable.
Use consistent attribution, separate tracking links and a documented offer for each market.
Scale on business results.
Compare acquisition quality and retention alongside spend. Cheap clicks are useful only when they lead to the outcome you need.
Where should your next Telegram campaign go?
Choose two or three markets where you have both a relevant audience hypothesis and the ability to serve customers well. Run a focused test, learn which channels produce valuable actions, and use those results to decide where to expand.
